Paragould mother arrested after daughter claims she was beaten for ‘not doing the dishes’

Authorities in Paragould have said that a local mother has been arrested after she was accused of beating her own 15-year old daughter because she ‘didn’t wash the dishes’.

35-year old Misty Dancer was taken into custody and charged with first-degree domestic battery and two counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor.

According to a report by Arkansas Online, a case worked from Children and Family Services reported that a student at Greene County Tech Junior High School had “multiple bruises on several parts of her body.”, and the case was referred to Greene County sheriff’s office.

The teen was interviewed by police, with one officer observing the girl had a number of bruises along the length of her body. According to the report, the teen said that her mother hit her with a belt because she did not do the dishes. It was also reported that the girl’s 8-year old sister required medical attention as well.

Dancer has a court date set for Monday, and is currently at the Greene County jail.
